Juanita offers lessons in voice, piano, guitar and piano accordion and specialises in beginners, adults or children of late primary school age and above.

A trained teacher with NSW Dept of Education, Juanita has been teaching for over thirty five years and is also a trained Life Coach with New Insights, Sydney.

Voice

Have you ever had a secret burning desire to sing, but just the thought of it paralyses you with fear? Were you ever told not to sing or that you were tone deaf? Juanita believes anyone can learn to sing and that it is never too late to start. All you need is your desire and a safe, caring environment in which to find your voice.

The lessons include exercises, tools and techniques to help you discover and develop your voice to the best of your ability in a fun way, and can be applied to all musical styles.

Juanita will guide you to learn new songs, improvise, harmonise, count in and lead a band if you so desire. You will also learn techniques to help manage nerves and stage fright.

Piano

Juanita is a classically trained pianist offering tuition in jazz, blues, and contemporary styles.

She teaches the Margaret Brandman method of piano. This program teaches students to read and play music through intervals. It is a highly effective technique that enables students to read music and play piano with both hands almost immediately. Juanita also believes that learning by ear or rote adds yet another dimension in the art of music.

Guitar and Piano Accordion

Juanita offers beginner and intermediate lessons.

Rates

1 hour individual private lessons – $110

½ hour individual private lessons – $55

½ hour nine week blocks – $450 ($50 per 30 minute lesson)

Online Lessons

Juanita is now able to offer students online lessons via Zoom or another compatible medium. So if you do not live in Canberra, or unable to attend your lesson in the studio, lessons online are an excellent option. Contact Juanita for further information on this new way to learn!
